Pressure ulcers are skin and tissue injuries that occur due to prolonged pressure on the skin. Most often, they occur on the skin covering bony areas of the body (in particular, elbows, heels, ankles, hips, tailbone). Most pressure ulcers develop in adults and children who are immobile for a long time (for example, lying in bed or sitting in a wheelchair). <\/p>

Treatment of pressure ulcers involves regular cleaning and disinfection of the affected areas, the use of ointments and dressings for wound healing. It is important to change the patient’s body position every two to three hours to reduce pressure on the affected areas.
